Submission Guidelines
Seventh Window Publications is presently looking for genre romance novels, novellas and shorts. - novels: 60,000 - 80,000 words
- novellas: 15,000 - 59,000 words
- shorts: 7,000 - 15,000 words
What we are looking for:
- Horror
- We do not want to see any horror novels about vampires or anything that deals with vampires. All vampire novels get rejected.
- Romance*
- Regency
- Western
- Historical
- Suspense
- Science fiction
- Fantasy
- Glitz
- Erotica
Writing genre fiction is not easy (especially romance), so please know your genre before you begin writing.
This is a guideline to help authors understand what Seventh Window Publications is looking for. These are not strict rules.
- Must have erotic content
- Fall in one specific category
- romantic suspense
- regency
- western (USA)/historical
- contemporary
- romantic espionage
- Have strong characters
- Vivid settings
- Be written in the third person point of view The voice would have to be strong for us to accept a first person story.
- If you want your characters to be monogamous, that's fine, but we're not pushing monogamy. We're looking for open relationships, three-ways, etc. . . We want these books to be a fantasy, but they must also show the diversity of gay male relationships.
WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN SUBMITTING
Here is a check list of things not to do when submitting your work to Seventh Window Publications.
Do not:
- Insult the editor or the books we publish
- Use an illegible font
- Send a first draft
- Use colored paper
- Send us non-genre novels
- Write in a genre you do not understand
- Write about vampires
- Send us a manuscript that has already been published via print-on-demand (POD)
HOW TO SUBMIT
There are two ways to submit your writing to Seventh Window Publications:
The web: Go to our Contact Us page and enter the following information: - Your name
- Word count
- Title
- Romance Genre
- One paragraph synopsis. (i.e. Hip Hop artist Boss Rhymes has a reputation for being bad, showing skin and doing his own thing with the brothers. When white boy Jake shows up on the scene, Boss Rhymes has to choose between love and his reputation.)
We will get back to you with a response within 48 hours. If we are interested in your story we will ask to see either half or the entire manuscript.
Snail mail: Submit the first three chapters, cover letter and two page synopsis
